Hey blokes, has anyone fitted a grease nipple to the gear side of an electric winch?

Hi Zacco. Is your winch a Runva? If it is please let me know if this mod works. Wonder why they don't fit grease nipples from new.

Adding a grease nipple wouldnt deal with any water that got in. Also you dont fill them with grease only giving the parts a good coating. A quick google came up with a guide

Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

They say the best way to make your winch last is use it heaps. Mine gets plenty of use as I'm always getting stuck trying to follow those big trucks. I just wish I had bought the faster winching model.

to much grease can make it really hard to pull out on free spool. few people have said to get rid of all the grease and run atf in there.

overtime water and crap can get in. strippping it down from time to time and re greasing needs to be done unless you want it to work the one time it needs to?
