Isuzu tfr motor swap

Postby 3point1tfr » Tue Jan 08, 2019 5:28 am

Hey guys, pretty new here, have just bought myself a 2wd Isuzu tfr Ute, has the 2.5 4JA1 in it that is cooked, looking at the option of dropping a 2.8 4JB1 or 3.1 4JG1 into instead as the 2.5s aren't the easiest to find, would the 2.5 box work behind either of the larger motors and what else would I be needing to get this done, I've had a few of these utes but they were all 2.6 petrol so I'm new to the diesel side, any help is appreciated, cheers

Yes 2.8 4jb1 or 3.1 4jg2 will fit some you had to swap the sump 9n as it hits the steering drag link

Did you actually go through with this engine swap, 3point1tfr? How did it go?

Not yet done, other projects have been taking priority so this has been put on the bottom of the list for now, will update when I have actually done it, Bricken
