1999 MU

Postby BUBsthemu » Mon Nov 18, 2019 3:39 pm

A freind of mine is looking at buying a 1999 MU, 3.0ltr deisel. Anyone had any experience or feedback on this model. The one he is looking at has done 208 ks. Sadly it's on trade me so no physical inspection can be done. Does need a rear door spare wheel mount as this is missing. Hopefully they're avaliable from wreckers. And are things like front bars recovery bits avaliable for this Any feedback would be appreciated. Cheers.

That model if I was to buy one it would be the v6. The motor in your one is the 4jx1. Could be ok but ask if its had the injector sleeves done and look for oil leaks around the oil pressure sensor. Injector sleeves can leak diesel into the oil and the oil leak can get into the ecu.
Even so if the price is right its the best Mu to get. Coil spring rear end and a few other goodys. You could always throw a 4jj2 of 4jh1 into it with minimal fuss
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

Hi. I recently bought a Mu Wizard. It’s a good vehicle. My one has 3.1 Diesel Engine which is 4JG2. Automatic transmission. Very good vehicle. Worth to buy.
