Adjustment is by shims. At the inside of the top A arm there are 2 large bolts. These attach to a bracket on the chassis and between the chassis and the mount are shims you can add.
Realy this needs to be done on a wheel alignment machine to set correctly. Also check the rubber bushes in the upper arm as these do wear out and cause this problem
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
