Postby muzila » Sun Jul 19, 2009 10:53 am

Could sum cleaver person please tell me how to get the strut bolts undone that go through the rear window.
I have to replace my window but can not figure out how to get the struts off with out stuffing the bolts that go through it as there is nothing to hold onto to stop them turning on the outside.

Mine came loose a few months ago, I used vise grips on the nut to tighten them

i just put brand new struts in. one side came out easy, but for the other side i had to drill 2 holes so i could use an anglegrinder spanner thingy. it's neat damage, but i tried many other crazy methods first...it was unreasonably difficult

mine came off without too much hassle, the bugger for me was the replacement struts came without the bolts to go through the glass so I had to find the old struts that luckily i hadn't thrown out and cut the bolts out, the replacement struts have a much nicer clip on and off method to get these out so next time it will be sweet as
