2014 MU-X Recall on 3rd Row Seat Belts

Postby MuxAbout » Wed Oct 15, 2014 2:41 pm

Hi,

I am new to this forum, and in the process of buying my first Isuzu. It's a new MU-X LS-U 4x4...

I was just told yesterday (after pressing the GO button) that there had been an Australian wide recall on them and they couldn't deliver any new MU-X's until they were "fixed".

Apparently the 3rd row of seat belts don't spool out correctly and need to be replaced, and the part that is required is on back order and the ETA is 1/11.

I wanted to know if anyone on here knows anything about or even heard of this recall. The government 'recall' website http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/952842 shows an earlier recall for them in August (regarding 2nd Row Seat belt Anchorage) but nothing for October.

Thanks, MuxAbout.

This was posted today...

What are the defects?

Due to incorrect setting of the angle detection sensor, it is possible the seatbelt will not be able to extend when the vehicle is parked on a downhill slope.
What are the hazards?

If the defect occurs, passengers may not be able to fasten the seat belt until the vehicle has moved, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a collision.

We had our Mu-X in for it's first service and they fixed the seat belt anchorage recall, looks like here comes another recall notice.

Hi muu92,

Yeah I saw the posting this morning too...

Oh well... I just have to wait till the parts are available till I can pick up my new vehicle...

Do you think it will take the full quoted time for the parts..? 1/11?

If they have to freight them from overseas, ordered enough stock to supply all the dealers, it probably would take several weeks to get here and distribute around the country, so I would think 1st Nov would be about right.
Cheers
