4JG2 engine in my 1994 MU

Postby johnhb » Tue Feb 07, 2017 4:43 pm

you cant drop the engine from my old 94 MU in an 1999 MU with auto gearbox can you? My dud 4JX1 engine in my 1999 MU suffered a runaway and is seized.

Or can anyone around Wellington offer me a quote to drop another engine in?
Or, do you want my truck? Still registered, $1000 of new Firestone tires on it...

Engine and gearbox combo should work. Was the 99 auto. You may have to talk to a certifier first as generally the rule to avoid cert is newer smaller and less powerful. The 4jg2 fails the smaller rule. If you have to cert though it does allow a little more flexibility to adjust mounts if they are not a good fit as any engine mount or chassis welding requires cert
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
