clutch problem

Postby zacco » Thu Mar 16, 2017 10:36 am

G day blokes. Having a problem with clutch pedal not returning, replaced master and slave but no change. Apparently there is a clutch damper valve in between master and slave cyl. Anyone repaired these ?

You need to bleed the one in the middle that's on the fire wall half way down first then then the slave cylinder 1 and it should be ok.

I had a similar problem before I replaced the master cylinder but it was fine afterwards. It is possible that until its fully bled this can happen in which case pulling the pedal up is a work round. Once bled it should be ok.
The mechanics fixing my Zafira had the same problem with the brakes. In the end $500 to rebuild that master cylinder
One warning Make sure you have the handbrake on when bleeding clutch. I didnt and I have a sloping driveway. Wife pushing on pedal me with spanner underneath. All good untill the clutch built up pressure an released the gear. Quick grab of crossmember swing feet in and ride on my back 2 car lengths. I needed a coffee break after that
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
