4 Door Truck

Postby JBjunior » Sun Apr 16, 2017 1:37 am

I am in the beginning stages of looking to import an early 90s 4 door Isuzu truck into the US. What models were there everywhere else in the world that are candidates? Criteria is: 1990 - 92, 4 door, largest tow capacity possible, diesel, manual. 4x4 not a large priority but fine as well. What was made out there?

So often people refer to 4x4s as trucks which could leave a confusion in this post. Isuzu make 4x4s in which case the Bighorn with 4jg2 engine is what you want. However Isuzu made its name building real trucks from the NPR which has similar mechanicals to the Bighorn in a 3 to 8 ton body (3 ton is 4jb1 2.8 litre 8 ton is a 4.8 litre 6 cylinder) right up to full size 18 wheel b train units My X brother in law used to own a Isuzu B train rated to 45 ton of about that vintage

Thanks Geeves. Here, we differentiate between the sport utility vehicle which was our Amigo/Rodeo or your Mu/Bighorn and a truck which is what we got as the pickup/pup which has an open storage bed in the back. We never got a four door version. So you are saying that the 4 door version with open storage bed in the back was also called the Bighorn? I thought that was only the 4 door enclosed cab model.

We have the NPRs here, not what I am looking for either.

We call that an isuzu ute or Holden Rodeo. Your Rodeo is A Wizard or frontera here.
From Japan it will come with a 2.8 litre diesel or 2.6 or 3.2 petrol motor

There you go, I forgot about the Wizard. The Bighorn is our Trooper I think. So I am looking for a Holden Rodeo or Isuzu Ute. Do you know if it is called the same thing in Europe?

If you search for Isuzu Tfs or isuzu KB you should find what you are looking for
TFS and KB are the main series of utes
