MU roof rack options?

Postby haven » Wed Jul 26, 2017 7:49 am

so the local roofrack guy tells me the mu cant handle a rooftop tent and heavy duty roof racks aren't available for it. despite this ive seen people with them and am determined to make it happen.
can anyone tell me what works for it, part numbers etc?
at the moment my thoughts are getting one of those flat steel trays and just modifying the brackets to fit on the adjustable track runners from the rhino roof racks to distribute the weight as much as possible.,
cheers

Muzila has a roof tent so it could be worth searching his set up. I dont believe you can buy an off the shelf rack for the Mu but you can fit the fixed rails similar to a lot of station wagons wizards etc. You will have to change the lenth so they bolt into the support bars inside the roof which might require headlining removal
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
