Recovery hooks for Bighorn

Postby Brassmonkey » Thu Apr 16, 2020 6:50 am

Is there aNZ supplier for recovery hooks that will bolt into the holes on a Bighorn? All the ones I've seen have 35mm bolt spacing but the Isuzu has 55mm bolt spacing.

Not just the spacing that is wrong. They are also 10mm bolts. You need to engineer a solution using the common hooks which is easiest with a bullbar. Make sure whatever you bolt to the chassis is bolted to it with more bolt cross section than the 2 12mm bolts in the hook. Also keep the line of stress as close the the chassis as possible. Get the mounting of the hook wrong and you may end up with an armour piercing bullet leaving your car towards whoever you are towing. Have your mounting plate come off and its an armour piercing cannon ball traveling at about the same speed as medievil cannon balls. As its your hook heading towards other people its you that gets to do first aid if they are still alive.
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
