would exgaust gasses be hot enough to melt the tire if the exhaust is exited in front of the rear tyre? itl gave aprox 100mm between the end of exhaust and tyre

Had same thoughts scruff....And why the hell they make the exhaust change sides and go out the left rear beats me.. I have a basic home made straight throw muffler but a shorter exhaust system would be better im sure.. A exhaust shop/ fitter may know.. The trailing arms might be the tricky bit...
Oh well, can some one hook up the winch i cant open my door !!!!!!!!!

the exhaust has to exit past the body of the vehicle mine snapped off at the last muffler and the cabin just stank of exhaust fumes. best thing to do is a nice freeflow 3inch or 2.5inch dump pipe and run a 2.5inch pipe with a muffler. i have this and it works well

I have thought about this, but on a wet road if you are blowing diesel onto one of the rear tyres you might suddenly be facing the wrong way around a corner...
would hav to be a fair amount of soot to do that, driven with it like ths 4 around 700km an no problems, my truk runs clean tho, neva blows any smoke. The tire hasnt even got black soot on it yet
if diesel was coming out the exhaust would be very worried.......nice job scruff....I am surprised they wofed it like that . With it under the body....cool... .

Rock sliders that double as side pipes? Burnt calf muscles anybody. I had a 64 Fairlane some years ago (25+) that had "Lake Pipes" on it. They didn't stay on long, got sick of the burns For you young fellas "Lake Pipes" were exhaust pipes that ran under/beside your sills. It was a fad that has (thankfully) past its use by date.
