Thanks for the tips MU31, I will probably go for a cooler stat once summer starts, I remember reading somewhere that the swirl chamber in an I.D.I. head doesn't get much cooling from intake airflow, apparently it's a "dead area" as far as cooling airflow goes so making sure that the engine doesn't heat spike could help to keep this high temp area a tad cooler!
