4GJ2 as a stationary engine

Postby Dale91 » Wed Apr 08, 2020 2:56 pm

Hi guys, I wanting some advice on how to make a 4JG2 stationary engine.
I want to run a hydraulic pump with it. I noticed that the motor had a lot of small tubes in it, which ones can I remove.
Also can u run it with out the vacuum pump?
Cheers

Vac pump is for running breaks plus some cold start devices which are often removed. Not required to run the engine.
You need the line from the pipe from the pipe between the turbo and intake that goes to the top of the injector pump but the others are extras for nice things like fast idle etc which you wont be using.
Must be a meaty pump

RIP everything off it, dont need the heater hoses just loop that, throw all the little hoses away, block the egr off with plates, 1 little hose from cross over pipe or intercooler to top of injectorpump, 1 ignition feed to solenoid on injector pump, power and start signal to starter, plumb a radiator add some fuel and broom

ones a return as a rotary fuel pump uses the fuel as a coolant and lubricant. Run 2 lines to the fuel tank and if it doesnt work one way swap them over

Hey guys, I got the motor running. :D . now the next bit, in the exhaust side of the motor there is a bango bolt with two oil lines coming from it, one is for the turbo- what’s the other one for? Do I need to run it for a stationary engine set up?
Cheers

That goes to the back of the alternator for the vacuum pump. Only required if you have vacuum operated accessories
