Triggering it would be easy enough with a normally closed relay with power going through to the solenoid, and using the acc power to trigger it to open, cutting power to the solenoid ... it makes more sense in my head, the valve part I am not so sure on

The mechanic i spoke to today said that he heard of problems with ball bearing one way valves on catch cans and thought mechanical was much better

I have never had a problem with my non return valve on my catch can. I have driven 450km non stop and the can is always empty. Your non return valve must not be sealing properly. The tap idea is a great looking system as long as the vacuum hose doesn't come off

Im sure the ball bearing valve can work perfectly and it could well have failed because of a design fault on my part
Good point about the vac pipe the thought hadn’t crossed my mind think i might fit a micro switch running to warning light in cab so if the fails ill know
Thanks for the heads up

I personally don't see why a vacuum line would come off if its on properly, I wouldn't worry to much about it
I live in my own little world, but its OK they know me here.

I did 250km journey yesterday not one drop of oil after the catch can looking good so far
Going off up the west coast this week should be the proper test will do at least 1500km
if the vac pipe did come off you would notice it in the breaks as the peddle would go hard
