Hey guys,
I recently bought a 93 bighorn with a 4jg2t engine (has 220,000 kms, supposidly recond at 160,000kms but yet to confirm) that had been overheated and blown the turbo cooling hose off, but not seized, it had a suspected blown headgasket which i have yet to confirm.
First thing i noticed was the radiator was clogged so have had that dealt to, guy at the shop said it was 80% blocked so theres why it overheated(hopfully).
now it seems to be lacking in top end power, doesnt hold revs or speed on hills like it should.
makes a dry whining sound around 2500rpm and above, Turbo?
when i open the oil cap when engine is running it fumes.
heres the wierdest part when i dont have the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation on top of the intake manifold) vacum diaphams connected no smoke what so ever comes out of the exhaust, when i connect the vacum hoses back up it is rough on acceleration from stationary, blows blue, black and white smoke.
Would anybody like to shed some light on this situation???
I am guessing its more than one problem but unsure.
will be checking compressions this week and will post the results.
any help will be much appriciated
Cheers
Dan
