Overdrive,Powerdrive

Postby fraskin » Sun Jan 30, 2011 9:56 am

I have 2 switches on my 1994 3,1 liter Mu,They are marked Power and Overdrive on the Gear lever, Do they work on reving up the engine or mechanical changing gears in the box? There is no no difference when i switch them on.My fuel consumption is about 20 liter each 100klms or 2 liters each 5 minutes even standing on lights,Is there way to reduce the fuel?

The powerdrive changes the top end of the rev range before the gearbox flicks into the next gear, you would only notice the difference if you were stomping it up towards 4k rpm, the overdrive - are you reffering to the one on the gear selector or the button next to the power - the button next brings the rev range back down to normal. The one on the selector is the overdrive gear as such
