Is that not in the middle or is it just the pictures?

Probably offset to line up with the intercooler =)

No it is not quite in the middle as the air to water intercooler is positioned more to the left looking from the bonnet back. If the scoop had been another 50mm wide would have been ok. I thought that the Patrol and Hilux are not in the centre than it's ok for my MU 8-)
