Typical EGT's

Postby mattmannz » Mon Mar 07, 2011 7:06 pm

I recently installed an EGR delete kit and fitted the exhaust plate with an EGT gauge.

I got an Autogauge gauge, seems reasonable quality. Stepper motor. Range is from 200 to 1200 which is obviously far too high.

Driving around I seem to get about 250 and then under load it climbs to 400-450.

Thought it seemed a bit low to me. What temps are people seeing normally?

Cheers
Matt.

I have a 2.8 mine runs at 550-650 at speed up hills. Working real hard it goes over 700. My probe is a long one it goes down to the bottom of the manifold

Thanks Pig. My probe is pretty long as well and sticks well down into the manifold.

What are your temps just cruising around?

The 3.1 being indirect injection might be the difference

Haha for sure. I see 500 under full sustained load but my round town cruising is low.
