Fuel Adjustment/Boost control

Postby Isuzumu » Sat Mar 19, 2011 9:11 am

Does anyone know:- if you have adjusted the fuel pump for more fuel and then you get more boost does the amount of fuel lessen when you wind the boost back? (I have a boost controller in the cab) I put the fuel screw back to factory setting and lost around 1.5 lb of boost, so you can see it works that way but wandering if it works the other way.

1.u need approx 450kpa to the injectors if u pump more the lambda sensor and the canister purge will make corrections unless you remap settings in your ecu 2.direct injection it can be adjusted up to 20 mpa in line with the integrateted fuel-supply control valve3.diesels all types every type have a injected-fuel quantity limit

i no but diesel have a torgue-controlled edc ,management system calculates the output engine torque to be generated and controls the fuel injection and air system actuators accordingly .torque system using boost pressure, injection, preglow no system having direct influence on engine management.

Patric most of these motors do not have Electronic Diesel Control as they are mechanical pump and the air system is just a scavenging system

True but show us a cheap practical way.
A few years ago superturbo compound demonstrated a way to electronify one of these injector pumps and performance wasnt far from your numbers but it all had to be mappeed by hand on a dyno and dyno time isnt cheap
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

My up grade goes like this....3" mandrel bent exhaust, air to water intercooler, pump open 1/4 turn and boost no more than 16 lbs.
Power now is an easy 125 KWs and 380 NMs. I believe i could get more but do not want to see heaps of smoke when I floor it.
