How good are the Wizard 4JX1s in water?

Postby Gearbe » Thu Mar 24, 2011 6:22 pm

Hi All

Having spent a ton of money getting running again (new turbo and injectors) I'm wanting to get off road again but have never done it in the Wizard. Have been running old Land Rovers for years so want to get back out there but am unsure how all those electronic bits and bobs are going to handle even modest wading. As most of you know with older vehicles; a can of CRC, some rags, a few tools and you could more than likely get going again after getting seriously wet. Modern vehicles are not so accommodating I suspect so how can I protect from water getting where it shouldn't? I'm not planning on having water over the bonnet but would like to at least get the tires wet. Will be fitting a snorkel shortly but is there anything in particular I can do?

that and extended breathers should keep you out of trouble
Be careful about getting water in the auto
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
