Just a final inquiry...with my engine 2.8 Turbo Diesel with 14lbs increase do I need to add an intelcooler or is the 2.5" exhaust pipe the only thing mandatory to prevent engine damage?

Do you mean 14 psi above factory?? or 14 psi reading??
If you've got 14 psi aboue factory then not much is going to help you cause you'll blow the head off the motor!!
If reading 14psi, then I think the bigger exhaust is a must, plus you need to add a little more fuel to the mix. The intercooler is not a must, but is a help all the same.

That would be 14 on the guage. Otherwise it would be a total of 24 which would make an interesting truck for a little while. It might last but way beyond recomended

LOL sorry guys its an increase from the standard 10psi to 14psi...reason i was asking i was about to take it to a Diesel Machanic to get the fuel pump adjusted to coincide with the additional 4psi .And he was saying he believes it would be sooo much heat if I do not add an intercooler.....but I was like well the exhaust taked care of the heat and the intercooler cools heat coming into the engine and has littel bearing on the heat built up at the end of the process thtd why the increase in exhaust size so zi just ask the Peeps that now a LOT more that I do on the topic with also more experience...:)

There will be more heat, but not enough to do any damage.
The cooler the air going into the engine, the cooler the air going out, and the cooler the motor will be in general. I noticed a little difference on the temp guage after fitting the intercooler and especially with the fan on top.

2 bits to this
first is engine temp. This is the standard guage. If the cooling system is in good condition there should be no worry as it will be rare to be using full power for long enough periods at low speeds to even have an effect
second is exhaust gas temp. This kills engines and is the real cause of hilux head failures at 4000 a time. More boost allows more fuel which makes more heat but also more boost means more gas flow which cools the exhaust. A thing to note is that the boost compensator on the pump does a good job of adjusting the fuel rate but if you want to adjust to get the extra power you should also fit a pyrometer or EGT guage. Never let it over 650C or dull red at the turbo. They are expensive but so are turbos and heads. The EGT comes down very quickly when you lift the foot

I believe this is the Exhaust Gas Temperature guage... http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/tinted-7 ... gauge.aspx
