catless exhaust

I have a '98 '3.5L jackaroo trooper with a catless 3inch exhaust is there anyway to stop the engine check light from stayin on or another oxygen senser to suit.

Why do you need another sensor? The cat is after the sensor

but i have changed the stoichiometrical balance of fuel and air of my exhaust can i use a universal downstream lambda oxygen sensor will my ecu be ok with it.

How did you change the ratio? Did you chip the ecu or change injectors,adjust fuel pressure?
If you just changed the exhaust the standard sensor should be fine as it reads the ratio before the cat

if there is an o2 sensor after the cat.,,you can take a sparkplug anti-fouler and drill it out,,put it in the o2 bung,,then screw in the o2 sensor,,it will fool it into thinking that you still have a cat.did this on mine and works great.
