DUMP PIPE FLANGE AND DUMP PIPE PICTURES

Postby gomulletgo » Wed Nov 16, 2011 9:26 am

Hi all,

I've got one of the dump pipe flanges from brokenmu pictured here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=967

And I've got some exhaust tubing that I plan to make a dump pipe out of.

I have a question about the hole in the flange for the wastegate, it is squared off to allow the wastegate to travel on it's hinge. How far does it travel on it's hinge? does it open right up? i.e. 90 degrees from it's closed position.

If so how is the seperate exhaust pipe for the wastegate shaped? is it crushed into an oval to fit the shape better?

The dump pipes that brokenmu makes with these flanges are here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1893&hilit=3+dump+pipe

From the pictures there it looks to me like he uses just round pipe, although it is hard to tell. Does anyone have pictures showing the dump pipe looking at the flange end? Or even around the flange from the back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I can't wait to get this thing breathing properly :D

Here is the reason why the dump pipes brokenmu make look to have a totally round wastegate pipe:
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2863&p=21664&hilit=new+dump+pipe+flanges#p21664

Older style that I have: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=967

Definitely more annoying with the key hole, but I'll sort it out.

The photos in this link all show dump pipes made with the non-keyhole type dump pipe flange: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1893&hilit=dump+pipes

I'm posting this info so others in the future don't battle with the same issue. I'm started on my dump pipe :D Now to find a 3inch to 2 1/4 inch reducer :D
