grey smoke

Postby B8MYHK » Mon Nov 21, 2011 2:51 pm

Hi guys

Can someone please tell me why when I am towing i get grey smoke as I move up through the gears. Ok when not towing apart from the usual black stuff. Don't know enough about diesel motors.
Bit worried it might be the turbo although it's only done 120k since it was fitted. :? :?

Just had an afterthought. Been getting a funny rattling type noise which isn't a loose bracket etc if you know what I mean etc. Could this be an injector problem and related to the smoke?
Mine have never been touched (170,000).

What sort of dollars am I looking at?

Better off getting someone to do it I presume? Don"t know enough about diesels to do it myself.

Thanks for that. I suppose if they are worn that it will be using to much fuel causing the smoke?

Nt so much using to much fuel, its the fuel not being sprayd into the corect mist pattern, causing it nt to burn evenly, and if ones leaking it will cause it to rattle wen cold
