Blank for over pressure valve on inlet manifold

Postby mulover » Sun Jun 28, 2009 3:54 pm

Hi all,

Is there any one that could please tell me the dimentions and hole centres/sizes to make a plate to blank off the over pressure valve on the inlet manifold??

I have down loaded the PDF of all the other blanking plates, and if i can get the dimentions for this one too, then I can cut out complete sets at work for anyone thats interested.

Thanks very much,

John.

No you have to go looking for this one on the other side of the maniflold.
If you fo;;ow the pipe from the top of the tappet cover it goes between the inlet manifold to a t piece. One side goes to the intake pipe the other to this valve. Its invisable untill you remove the intercooler.
I might have a spare in my box of bits but its too cold in the garage right now
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

This gadget is a over pressure valve that opens at about 14 psi. If for some reason the waste gate doesn't open then this valve opens to protect the motor, releasing the pressure built up buy the turbo. However, if you want to increase the boost above about 14psi then you need to blank this off, and hope your waste gate always works!!

No worries, you only need to touch it if you want to increase the boost.

these valves usaly always leak any way. your best just blocking it of. if your worryd about control over the boost change to a exturnal waste gate setup. they are alot more relibul than inturnal ones. and there user serviceabul and control boost much better
