What grade engine oil?

Hi all,

Firstly thanks to geeves, nice manual.
Main 4wd is the 2.8 4JB1T manual MU.
After reading the user manual, the manuarfacture recommond to use 10w-30 engine oil for all weather. I used to use Caltex delo, and now changes to the diseal extra 15w40. Am I using the right oil?

And on the manual shows the every 40000km should adjust the valve clearance, did any one done this?
When I m using the 4WH, I could hear the transfer is quit noise (still acceptable) is that normal? So far since I got the vehicle in early 2003,the gear oil has never been changed, should I change the oil for the gearbox using the 15w-40 engine oil?

You can use engine oil in the manuel gearbox and also tranz oil.

Delo is good oil and fine for this engine although it can leak easier than other oils. Dont use this oil in the gearbox as you wont be able to change gear when cold. Get a cheaper similar grade oil.
4high is only for gravel or icy roads
