Turbo removal Tips please 4jg2

Postby BighornKayaker » Sun Oct 30, 2016 3:13 pm

Trying to get the last stud off my old turbo but cant seem to get it off no matter how hard i try. Its as if the wastegate blocks all access to it apart from a spanner and then i cant get enough leverage off of it with one hand. PLEASE HELP. Oh yeah im stuck on the bottom left stud on the exhaust nanifold flange.

a normal spanner normally works they are tight though, removing the dump pipe off the back of the turbo helps a little bit aswell

Can you hook a second spanner on the first or lengthen it with pipe?
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
