Does anyone know if it is possible to hook the old Air-Conditioning radiator into the transmission fluid line to help cool it? (instead of getting a proper transmission cooling radiator)
i.e. will the trans fluid react with that radiator & cause rust or something similar?
cos this happened when i went 4wding:

I admit it was sort of my fault, as low-range wouldn't engage so had to go up the hill in high ratio, then the light came on half way up the hill & had to get someone to tow me up the rest of the way so that the trans wouldn't die.
I figured out that it wouldn't shift from 4x4 High to 4x4 Low range until the engine was revving at it's lowest point (i.e. idling). The engine idol rev vacuum solenoid was on which made it rev higher than normal(you can see this on the photo), thus preventing the shift, and overheating the trans on the way up the hill.
I am going to order another fan for my radiator to bolt onto the front of it for hill-climbing purposes, which should prevent too much overheating. [i.e. the viscous fan on the engine side of the radiator, and an electric fan on the other side, so i will have two fans to make sure there is adequate air flow at low speed]
