Efi to manual pump

Postby WIZ96 » Sat Feb 03, 2018 7:21 pm

Hi, I have a 1997 wizard with a efi pump in it. I would like to convert it to a manual pump.
Can anyone advise me on whats involved in doing it please.

Ive just moved this to the correct place.
Manual pump should just plug and play but Im not sure if the efi uses a proper throttle cable. If not then its more work
EFI has better power and ecconomy
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

Can anyone tell me how hard it is to put a head and pump off a non efi on to a efi engine?

The head is the same. Just standard head and gasket swap. The pump is just timing belt 4 bolts pulley and pipework. Only catch is if your car was an efi model you might have a fly by wire throttle and how it talks to the auto trans is different. If you are dropping an efi motor into a non efi truck then swapping the pump is all you need to do

Heads are the same but I think you will have problems with the pump. Better to rebuild your efi pump if it needs it
