I have a 1989 Isuzu bighorn with a belt driven 4jb1t and was wondering if the chain driven 4jb1t out of the rodeos are as economical and as bullet proof as the old school belt driven 4jb1t. I am wanting to engine swap mine as when I bought it I didn't do as well as a check as I thought. I think the main bearings are shot and can find a chain drive 4jb1t for quite cheap. I quite like the idea of a chain driven motor but was wondering if they were as reliable as the belt driven.
