Onboard Air conversion help

Postby Kerpre » Mon Sep 17, 2018 8:04 pm

Hey guys I’ve just put a good sized hole in my a/c condenser and now onboard air seems like a bloody handy hung tonhave since I don’t use the a/c anyway. I was wondering if anyone here has converted the a/c pump into a compressor and if so have you got any photos or a bit of a yarn to help me get this done. Any help would be much appreciated!

Have done this on other vehicles. Just have to have a pressure switch to control the AC clutch. I used an electric air compressor tank with the switch on it. The compressor requires lubrication I just gave the intake a squirt of oil every now and again and never has a failure. Also put an oil separator after the compressor to remove it so you don’t fil tires with oil mist

Plenty of methods on google. A few I know of took the air intake from the crankcase vent so it gets a little engine oil
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
