Fuel draining from hose 1992 p/u

Postby macdoesit » Tue Oct 27, 2020 3:10 am

New to the forum---1992 ISUZU P/U 2 wheel drive, single cab
A rubber tube is hanging under RH side engine bay and gas is leaking out of it.
P/U runs good but loosing gas thru hose.
I plugged the hose and after a few minutes of running engine dies, un plug hose, gas squirts out and engine runs ok.
Can not see where this hose goes to.
Thank you for any info.

Im guessing because you are in USA that this is a gasoline truck. You had some different engine choises over there so I have to ask what engine you have? Also have you traced the hose to find where the other end goes?

Sounds like an overflow pipe. When you block it the fuel bowl overflows into the engine. New float valve should fix

Somewhere I heard that the hose is some how routed to the gas tank, i have no idea if this is true.

there is a black plastic canister right side down low with a open nipple, maybe the hose is supposed to connect there .

That I cant tell you I don't know about the gas engines I have only owned all diesel engines but the Isuzu manuals I have cover most of the petrol and diesel motors from the 88-96.
