Basically you have to get hold of some spacers, sometimes available on trademe, and then some longer bolts. You probably have 10 or so that hold the body on, I took all mine out first and then went to a truck repair specialist and they ordered them in for me. Then you have to check to make sure nothing will stretch but jack up the body and put the spacers in with new bolts. You may have to bend some of your levers and you may need to drop your radiator as well. Be aware you bumpers and side steps will now be further away from the body.

is this the only way to raise a truck? i really just wanna raise it to get clearance in the rear for some bigger tires

body lift is the cheaper option. this means the body will sit higher on the chasis rails, while it doesn't change the lowest point on the vehicle it gives more room in the guards vertically. The suspension lift increases the height of the whole truck apart from the diffs and costs more as you will need to reset or replace the rear leaf/coilsprings and all 4 shocks in you want to retain down travel and you will have to adjust the front torsion bars. I did all this work myself with a few little issues.

The body lift you might be able to do for around 200-250, if you do the suspension lift properly you are looking at 4 times that.

From my understanding of your post you are just wanting to put bigger tires on the rear? that would be a bad idea if you want to use 4wd

"And wats the difference between a spring lift and body lift other that the obvious lol not planning on hardcore 4x4 driving"
Why do you want a lift and bigger tyres?
If your wof issuer follows the letter of the rules then any lift and any larger tyres will require certification. This is about $400 above and beyond the cost of the mod.
Also the bigger tyres will reduce power and brake efficiency. The lift and bigger tyres will reduce your ability to go round corners. Also for some unknown reason bigger tyres on 3.1 bighorns really chews the fuel. And check your insurance. The bighorn looks fine on 31s and its a good compromise size already bigger than standard but not so much that things are very affected
There is no point in doing these mods unless you have a real need for them.

A body lift is blocks place between the chassis and body. A suspension lift is winding up the front torsion bars and either spacers or new springs in the back. There is a little more to it but thats what you are up for

I hope I wasnt too hard in what I said.
Mr public does not like 4wds because he is afraid they might run over his little car. The bigger and more aggressive the mods the more it scares him. Those mods do nothing for the abilities of a 4wd on the road and do nothing positive to the reputations of 4wds in the eyes of mr public.
Its better not to have those mods unless they are actually going to be of use.
Its a bit like the young guy down the street with the corrola lowered by 50mm and 22 inch mags with paint on tyres a no muffler exhaust and 5000 watt stereo. He never races either. He never drives over the speed limit or breaks any road rules but just from the description of the car you know hes a boy racer.
