Hi guys..

need some advice and best places to buy from...

Wanting to raise my truck a bit for a littleground clearence...cant do a body lift cause you need to get it certed so its a spring lift,...

my question now is where and what spring to buy? what about adding spacers? if so where in nz can i buy those?

and final question is it that simple - replace rear coils with raised springs and wind up the torsion bars to required height? do i need to change shocks or will standard ones be fine?

am i missing any thing? - remember im not raising it to go hardcore off roading just to get a bit dirty every now and then..

thanks all

basic lift is exactly what you say. Do give the adjusters on the torsion bars a good spray of crc etc each night for a week before doing and disconnect the front sway bar before adjusting Reconect afterwards if you like. This prevents the swaybar mucking up your measurements as with it lifting one side also lifts the other.
You should also consider removeing the upper ball joint and bolting it to the underside of the A arm This increases travel and makes wheel alignment on the lifted vehicle easier.
Today a spring lift does not need cert Not sure on spacers but you are correct that the body lift does. In the future though this may change. Dont know which way. Do remember though that larger tyres also need cert

since you are short wheel base do not buy the heavy duty spring option unless you carry far more than you should

My Bighorn has Cobra H/D springs in the back and its given me a decent lift settled on around a 3-3.5inch lift and I just wound the front up to about 2.5-3inch so that when loaded with all the family and gear it sits even. With that much lift you need longer shocks. Im running Rancho 9000's in the back but the fronts are just Monroe's (Standard height) and they are constantly topping out but the WOF man failed my front Rancho's so just saving up for some new ones.
