Postby BUSHPIG » Tue Sep 22, 2009 6:07 am

hey guys i just got round to doing some work on my truck after its been sitting there for months :? and what i would like to know is how high can i lift the suspenshion while keeping the std shocks as i have just scored a FREE set of new std height off road shocks. i was going to buy 50mm lifted powerdown shocks as the ones in the truck atm are stuffed. but since i got this new un-used set for free no point spending money i dont have to but would still like to lift it abit if poss.

The front you can lift as much as you want, because unles you change the arms the, the amount the shock travels does not change, and only changes a little bit if you cut the bump stops/do a ball joint flip.

The back, you can also lift maybe 2" and it will still be ok, the upward compression will be fine, but you will be missing out on the extra "drop" due to the shocks being too short and bottoming out (which is not good for them).
Oh how i miss my mu, the lux is just not the same :(

Dont go beyond 2 inches even with the ball joint flip and bump stop trim in the front. You can go higher but you lose articulation as the wheels cant drop much more than this
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
