Trimming Bump Stops

Postby dasnoboarder » Wed Nov 18, 2009 5:35 pm

Can someone post photos of how they've trimmed the front bump stops for 2-3" of suspension lift?

Cheers,
Andy.

You can buy nice urethane low profile bump stops
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

Hmm i want to replace mine with some lower profile ones too

Quite a few people on the vehicross forum i go on have done theres. Theyve listed part numbers etc and i was going to do the same
They are an energy suspension product,of course over in the states there big as, over here im not too sure.

Tho i know the shock shop in wellington have energy suspension products listed on there website so i was gonna go down there and give them the part numbers and work out the prices.

But of course the bumpstops are pretty universal so if the price for the energy ones are quite high,
where etc would be recommended.

Tho when buying the bumpstops i wanna do, The front and rear sway bar bushes with these type - Greaseable ones, So i was gonna get all the bushings in one hit.

Hut auto parts have a good range of that stuff but you might have to go in armed with measurements to match it. Never seen greasable sway bars before. I wouldnt bother unless yours actualy need changing
