Heavy steering turning right

Postby zacco » Mon Feb 01, 2016 6:49 am

Gday fellas, just picked up a 94 rodeo diesel. Seems to have no power assist when turning right but is fine turning left. Repairable or should I replace ?
PO put a new pump on, fluids and belts are fine and no leaks.
What is the best way to sort this ?
Cheers, zacco
P.S had the front end off the ground, I could cycle the steering left to right and back no problems with engine off.

There is a valve in the steering box that can stick that would cause this. Its a box out to get at but there is a plan A
Auto parts stores sell a product called Lucas power steering fluid. Changing the fluid to this might fix it It will also take care of any minor leaks. Lots easier than taking the box out
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
