Dont quite know how the auto transfer case is set up but if its isolated normally from the auto it should work. Another common way is to use the hilux transfer case. Both will change driveshaft lengths.

always wondered if it was possible, adapter plate doesn't look that hard to copy.
The biggest issue I see with duals in a mu would be the angle of the rear driveshaft

It would be quite short. A jeep wrangler shaft is also short but has a slide in it. Ive seen one come out when the back end jumped near the top of the long steep climb. Made a huge mess and the reverse back down the hill with only fwd was ugly

Seems to be a lot of welding on the box

There is a place in the USA that actully made a dual t-case set up that bolted up for an amigo ( Yank Mu basicly) They made it into a kit form. I did have the page bookmarked but kant find it now. I think I got to it from a rock crawling page from memory. There was quite a bit of work done on it but the end product was a work of art.

this is interesting. i don't understand how do you attach another tcase to the stock one but i know that this lowers the gearing. i know someone from 4x4ph.com (local 4wheel forum) that did a dual transfer case on his vitara. he used a samurai transfer case.

The samari uses a transfer case thats separate to the gearbox with a small drive shaft. Only other box I know like this is Hilux

I think it would be easier if you used the MU auto and changed the output shaft on that to toyota 26 spline and use the twin Hilux setup from Advanced adaptors, as they use the same brand of auto hust the manufactures have the own shafts and rear housing...
