Is that bar winch capable? I might start hunting out tjm stockists, tow hooks by chasis rails sounds good

I use a ARB winch bar and swear by it. Its off the MU atm due to a rebuilding of my truck but there is a photo somewhere on this board with it.

You don't need that silly thing!

Might as well hand the ARB over to me, I suppose I'll take the burden...

Haha - seriously though, I've been looking for one for ages!

HE HE HE. It may end up for sale in the future as I am toying with the idea of making my own custom tube winch bar for the front when I do the rear Set of bars.

Just not sure yet but if I do it will go up here first.

on my mu i actually successfully mounted a hook on the pass side by drilling in thru the chassis rail. drilled 3 holes and put crush tubes thru each one and put 5mm plate on top and bottom and used m8.8 bolts. did 3 bolts one to hold the steel plate in place. worked a treat.

that's pretty much the most approved method Did you mount vertical or horizontal?
Any issues at WOF time? sometimes they get a bit funny about drilling holes in the chassis especially near steering parts

Any chance of getting the pics soon? I'm hoping to mount a front recovery hook this weekend but am not 100% certain on where or how to mount it. Have a welding friend handy to help out as well.

Dave.

you should see mine :P got two recovery hooks, got a thick bit of steel rod, cut tow holes in the std bumped and welded the steel to the steel section of the bumped. then drilled two holes in the bar and mounted hooks to it, as strong at the front bumper itself which is bolted to chassis!!! been towing off it since no probs, simple and super effective! will make a d.i.y on this soon when i get the chance...

not a very good picture but yea...

looks good but we need pictures of the back. Do you have a pair of 12mm bolds at every attachment ie hook to bracket bracket to bumper (same bolts?) and bumper to chassis. If so it should work fine
