Scuba Air Tank in cab

Postby Captcol » Fri Dec 24, 2010 6:07 am

I have been offered a cheap scuba tank which I was thinking of adapting to run airlines from, I would mount this behind the back seats of the wizard (accross between wheel arches hopefully) and running the air lines.

Any pitfalls or legal complications to this idea? Anyone done it already and know what adapters etc I will need?

I hope this will work out cheaper than a permanently installed compressor.

scuba bottle still needs regular inspections or noone will fill it for you.Scuba tanks are filled to 2000psi or so which is why they work well. You need to bolt it down good
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

hopefully I can find some straps like they use for lpg, bolt through the floor. then just have to work out how to change the valves to allow air lines etc.

And the tank will have to come out to be filled anyways so hydro and visual inspections are not a major
