Yes, cheaper to get from US rather than 4WD systems here in Australia, last time I checked from indy4x.com was 450 delivered while Lokka was 600 delivered from 4WD systems. I was able to get a new in box second hand one makes a big difference can tackle harder stuff, much less speed

air locker in the front would be best, but cost is very prohibitive for me. nearly $3000 according to my math. thats over half the cost for the truck. aussie lokka works well but limits speed and makes steering heavy on hard tracks

I payed $1125 ea for my air lockers. fitting them is no that hard setting the bearing preload is the hardest part as you need to spread the diff housing

as far as i know, 800 for the diff head, + 1000 ish for intall and a compresser. if you have a compresser or can convert the a/c compresser and can do the work yourself then i would go for it. personlly i know enough to be dangerous so i would have the professionals do it

i have never noticed any clicking. i have always wondered what people were talking about. i have read on here that they only click if incorrectly set up. my cvs seem to be fine ( but have not had alot of play time due to engine probs) however they are a weak point if spinning the wheels with one wheel in the air and then suddenly dropping that wheel back down. alittle common sense and caution and should be sweet

Sounds like the go then ..and what i meant was the cvs clicking sorry didnt make that clear..
the places i go the cvs are pushed to there max... but on the same hand with a lokka they may not have to be..
Another thing to add to the wish list..Thanks for the info...oompa.....

"I payed $1125 ea for my air lockers. fitting them is no that hard setting the bearing preload is the hardest part as you need to spread the diff housing"

do the bighorns have an inspection plate style axle? wouldnt be so bad with the mu as it has a banjo style axle, those things are a piece of cake to dismantle...

yea from what ive been told on the other thread swanny, with the lockers it changes your driving style and you become more precise and less balls out with your techniques so ultimately you end up putting less stress on the cv's.... least thats what im told. canty wait to experiment...

emailed 5wd systems in s.a about prices for lokka branded lockers for front and rear but il see what they say. definately fitting the diff assembly would be easy, the compressor im not so sure about. not in the ac conversion sense. could easily fit up the compressor in the engine bay or something however..

thats what i initially thought. what did you mean about spreading the diff housing to accomodate bearing preload though? thats why i was thinking you meant flexing the housing to get the centre out...

Yes just the center assembly and i fitted them. Not long after i got mine ARB had a special buy front and rear locker and get the compressor free :x
There compressor is great. It will just run a rattle gun :D
4x4SWANNY wrote:Easy diffs to work on too.. even the bearings dont have to be adjusted .. Too easy...

 You have to set the preload with shims and a diff spreader to set the center up which is much harder than the Toyota diffs

nice setup zuman.. whered you get the locker from and how much it set you back? that's obviously the mechanical style but none the less better than open wheel. arb just informed me that front air operated lockers are available but not rear, so it will have to be a mech locker for the back....
