Winch bars

Postby Citron » Wed Jun 15, 2011 7:23 pm

Gday fellas, i was wondering who makes winch bars to fit a 1996 isuzu wizard, ave looked at the main sites and there seems to be no Mu ones around, would a similar year rodeo be the same front bumber and chassis for mounts etc? if you know of a good supplier arb, tjm whatever and cvan supply some cool photos would be great. ohhh ive already brought myself a electric winch too.

which brings me to my next point is it possible to seal the control box on the top of the winch better as well caus ive been through some pretty deep rivers and dont want to fuck it before i get the chance to use it if ya know what i mean :D

any info on this would be great, once i get the new bar fitted (brought or homemade if it comes to it) ill post some pics so yas can tell me what you think of me rig ^_^ cheers

I have the relays for the winch mounted on there side up in the grill and have never had any trouble with water stuffing them....They are amazingly tuff things mate..I wouldnt worry...And its better for them to have some air around them to cool more than sealed in a box...
Oh well, can some one hook up the winch i cant open my door !!!!!!!!!

Ok decided to get an engineer buddy or mine to build me one. we have constructed it in a "two part" form. the lower part mounts to the chassis and holds the winch in place, all made in 10mm plate, solid as! then the front part just bolts on to the lower mount, easy access to take off if there is a tangle or i need at the winch for some reason. Will have the final product pics up by the end of the week just need towait for the paint to dry so i can install the lights. Theyre LED driving lights with indicators built in that i got off Trade Me.

Ideas? criticism?

One quick very dangerous thought. Airbags???? If you have air bags then this wont pass wof. The powers that be have very strict rules for airbag fitted vehicles. I dont know if you do

Have you used the winch yet? I saw those on special not long ago for $497 but dont know if anyone has used them yet. The bar looks massive on there at least you know your guards and grill are safe. Looks solid as which is what you want
