Ive made a set on my MU (pics in members rigs) which are removable and i didnt have to drill any holes in the chassis, but i did use the 4 original bolts from the old original side steps for extra securing. I also dont need a cert either as no chassis mods. something to think about at WOF time. will be keen to see what you build. post some pics. Cheers

I havnt made any ATM, but looked at a lot of designs the most common design has two plates one at the back of the chassis and one athens front that the. Slider is made off a bolt runs through both plates one at at the top of the chassis and one at the bottom most of the sliders I have seen have 3 to 4 of these mountain per slider, they are removable and take no mods to the car so no cert required ,this is how I'm going to produce mine hope this description helps ,daryl

That sounds like the way I will go. I will take photos and put them up when we make them.

i can throw some dimensions your way if ya want mate? i used the original brackets from the side steps, cut them down and welded them up to my sliders rails, so no drilling etc and ive already managed to drop the car on them and it loved it! lol. ill take some pics and measure it this wk if your still interested?

Thanks haven that would be very helpful. I like the bolt on idea. I also plan on using them as steps as well as a connection point for an exo cage.

yea man love the bolt on design, and like i said ive already tested it, might not be quite strong enough to jack off though but it definately took the weight when i fell down this canyon!

ill measure it up for you then and take some better pics. i curved mine upwards so they wouldnt get caught up as easily and they protrude just enough to stand on them as steps without being chunky. also been thinking about building and exo skeleton for the mu at a later stage...

love this truck

ill get you dimensions asap mate

That truck looks awesome, don't think I would get that past the minister of internal affairs though. My sliders are going to come out to about an 1" of the wheels, that way the tyres can still cut in without the bars hanging up so much, and I have to have them out a fair way as the aforementioned minister can not get in the truck without the side steps which I have to take off when 4wding and leave my sills unprotected .. sigh

If you go to postreply at the bottom left just above the "who is online" text you can upload images directly rather than using the quick reply box at the bottom of the forum
