still trying to decided which of the three versions ill run with on the cage. running the triangulation to the c pillers give more room behind the seats for storage, amps, etc but alternatively running the crossing behind the seats allows more cargo room in the back section... ah decisions.lol.

A different version to all 3, the cross braces run from the b pillar to the c instead of crossing at the b, then I just have a horizontal brace on the b hoop for the harnesses. Pics up soon. Should be done by wkend..

dont have a full side shot as the carport isnt big enough but hope this is good enough....
wheelbase is 2" wider than standard for memory, so with 12.5 wide tyres is would end up almost 5" total wheelbase increase. wheels def hang out the guards but nothing some big flares couldnt combat..

finally got the rocker cover and head off the 2nd motor. found when i snapped the timing belt i bent all the pushrods, no visible damage to the rocker assembly though. a lot of carbon buildup on the valves and evidence of the valves hitting the piston tops too so ill make sure to get new valves as well..

completely stripped the engine down now and about to send it off for the recon/machining work.
apart from bent valves it looks like i pulled through unscathed after the timing belt snap. crankshaft and bearings are in great condition.

plans with the motor are:
machine/ deck head to raise compression
new pistons, liners,valves,pushrods etc.
high flow turbo
all new bearings and gaskets
recon injector pump.

more cage pics, the rear section has two variants, one with the diagonal cross as pictured against the forklift, the other just has the side bars like the picture showing no cross brace, this allows variation in rear storage space in case i have to fit something large in the back it can easily be removed or altered.

Engine total slowly going up. :s found a bent pushrod in the good spare motor so opted for a new set and only supplier is gen. So 37 bucks a rod and 8 rods adds up to a healthy 270 bucks. Plus the 400$ 80 amp alternator to keep the winche and accessories powered up..

building a custom centre colsole to house the fuse box behind it and operate all the extra electrics through the switches including winch controller...

removed the roof lining and fitted led strip lights into them and rewired them to work off both the doors and manually from the overhead switch panel.
have red and white parralel depending on whether full light it required or non obtrusive tactical light it needed...

Modified the original centre console unit to house the hydraulic handbrake and park brake more discreetly and still allow the fridge to be mounted on top...

also installed the air compressor and tank in the rear compartment, it now runs a on/off pressure switch, check valve to protect the pump and air pressure gauge on the dash..
