intercooled the old 2.2.

Postby spankynz » Mon Oct 24, 2011 5:24 pm

after making a rough pvc snorkle on sat , today i fitted a intercooler to my old 2.2 turbo diesel.now with the fuel and boost cranked up and with the intercooler it goes suprisingly well, have wound up the front torsions and removed the sway bar, nice and soft but still not much travel.

intercooler will have a detrimental effect unless you supply cold air to it. Normal way is with a scoop
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

tyres are 33 12.5 15s, they do fill the guards, small bit of rubbing when flexing and on full lock, the intercooler is off a mitsi l400 2.8td, it has its own fan mounted underneath it, soon as i start up the fan is going, sucks through it, after fitting it today i went for a cruise round some tracks by home and the intercooler is always cold to touch. also changed the exhaust , now has no muffler and exits out the left side .
