I thought those high wattage bulbs were also not kosher. I have std 50/65 in hella plus 50 in the bighorn and the light is fine When you come up behind someone they move out of the way. Not cheap bulbs though. There is suposed to be a tradeoff between the brightness of the plus 50 etc bulbs and life but these have been in there 8 or 9 years they have been driven home with the water level in the lamp only 1cm below the bulb and other unmentionable abuse.
The light still has the yellow tinge of incandescence but I did try some extra cool blueish bulbs and replaced them within a week. It might just of been me but I found esspecialy in wet weather that although the markers showed up fir miles I couldnt see the road surface and because of this I couldnt trust that I could see objects on the road. I probably could see all I needed to it just didnt look like I could.
Narva also make a pluss100 bulb
If you want legal hid the cheapest way is hid driving lights
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
