Hidden winch? Behind the front bumper?
Most the bighorns are pretty tight for space behind the stock front bumper. But there is a picture of it being done floating around. Sometimes its easiest to install a winch compatible bar.

As long as you can fab something up yourself you will come out in front. otherwise a second hand winch bar can be pretty cost effective.

Very nice but one issue I see popping up. Winches produce a lot of heat. (400 amps at full load = 4800w or 2.5 2 bar heaters) You might need to improve airflow around the motor

The problem isnt in normal use Its when you are really working the winch. If the outside of the winch gets to say 50C the temparature in the windings might be 200C plus which is hot enough to melt the insulation on the windings. Most low mount winches are very poor at getting rid of heat. Im on a second motor on mine and its sitting in an open angle iron cage.

winch will be fine if you dont over work it as geeves said, i have rebuilt my winch motor 6 times, after everytime i have abused it, 6 trucks on a single line pull for 2 minutes etc, wont get hot if you use it as per the instructions, no one ever does though, good job on the install

The last motor on my winch was after 30 meters of those conditions with a 25 degree slope. Smoke came out

Nice install.

What thickness plate did you use? Any shots of the chassis mount?

Cheers
