Remember if it is to be road registered that any change to a different motor requires certification which costs $400 on top of the other costs.
Comadoor v6 has been done several times with good results. Normal way is to use the holden auto and mount a hilux transfer case on the back. If you search the posts you can find a link to an adapter that lets you use your 5 speed but you need a manual v6 as well.
A V8 can be fitted but as already stated its a major project Yarno has been working on a lexus v8 and a nissan chassis in his Mu for several years and pictures exist of chev v8s fitted but these dont belong to clubisuzu members.
The cheap way is still to replace your broken 4jb1 with another one

On the topic of engine converions I have a almost rebuilt 4.3L chevy v6 in the shed. Was thinking about putting it in the MU but dont really want to take the 4jb1 as its going really well at the moment. But If I can get the right price for I will. So what is the price for a intercooled 4jb1-t with a couple mods??

Those 4.3 chevys are good engines. Check trademe to get an idea what a second hand engine is worth. The price varies a lot depending on how many engines are around at the time. Today might be 1500 but in another 2 or 3 months it might be 1000 or 3000
