Fitting injectors to recon head

Postby nb422 » Tue Nov 11, 2014 1:15 pm

I've got a 4jg2 head thats just been recon'd and need to refit the injectors. I've purchased a gasket kit which says it includes the injector copper washers but from looking inside the injector holes in the head one or two are missing the actual seat part. I sent two heads in still more or less assembled to get one good one made (One had bent valves and the other presumed cracked) and got them back but the good one has the injectors in a box seperate rather than installed.

Would I be able to remove the injectors from the spare head and just replace the copper washers before fitting? Cheers

You need to fit the heat shields before the cooper washers as well if they haven't been fitted.

I believe it is the part thats second in from the right missing for 2 of my injectors? Sorry haven't dealt with 3.1 injectors before, and I must say my 4jb1 injectors are much easier to deal with

If I remember right from another thread on this site you need to use new ones or they don't seal properly and they leak fuel or suck air in its one of the two.

You don't quench copper when annealing it, just let it cool down at its own pace.
